با توجه به شرایط محیطی مجتمع های نفت، گاز، پتروشیمی و … برخی از ترانسفورمر رکتیفایر می بایست در داخل منطقه خطر(Hazardous Area) نصب شوند. این امر مستلزم ساخت ترانسفورمر های مناسب نصب در این شرایط محیطی با رعایت استانداردهای مربوطه می باشند. با توجه به نیاز صنعت، شرکت برنا الکترونیک اقدام به ساخت ترانسفورمر رکتیفایر مناسب نصب در منطقه خطر (ضد انفجار EX) نموده است. ترانسفورمر رکتیفایرهای مذکور تاکنون در پروژه های بسیاری از قبیل: طرح و توسعه پالایشگاه تهران، پالایشگاه امام خمینی و شازند اراک، فاز 12 پارس جنوبی و … نصب و راه اندازی گردیده اند.
ترانسفورمر رکتیفایرهای مذکور مطابق استاندارد IEC60079 ساخته می شوند. در این نوع دستگاه ها ترانسفورماتور اصلی و بخش یکسوساز و فیلترهای مربوطه داخل مخزن روغن دستگاه غوطه ور شده، برای رعایت کلاس حفاظتی این بخش از ترانسفورمر رکتیفایر از کلاس حفاظتیEX-O استفاده می گردد. تجهیزات حفاظتی، واحدکنترل الکترونیک، اندازه گیری و … داخل باکس های مربوطه با کلاس حفاظتی Exd (براساس درخواست سفارش دهنده ممکن است کلاس حفاظتی متفاوت باشد) نصب می شوند. تجهیزات اندازه گیری مانند: آمپرمتر، ولتمتر و … در داخل باکس های ضد انفجار دارای صفحه نمایش شفاف نصب می گردند. ورود و خروج کابل های ترانسفورمر رکتیفایر با استفاده از گلند های ضد انفجار با همان کلاس Exd انجام می پذیرد. ترانسفورمر رکتیفایرهای ضد انفجار می توانند از نظر کنترلی هریک از انواع ذکر شده در بخش های قبلی را شامل شوند. بنابراین براساس نیاز پروژه این نوع رکتیفایرها نیز دارای کنترل الکترونیکی یا هوشمند و حتی چند کاناله خواهند بود.
